PlayStation 4 Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Sales Triple That of Xbox One

Added: 06.08.2014 11:54 | 10 views | 0 comments

Sales for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on PlayStation 4 have tripled those on Xbox One, Konami revealed during its latest financial report.

This shouldn't come as all too much of a surprise, especially when considering the larger install base on PS4 versus Xbox One. Let's also not forget that the PS4 version is technically superior to the other available versions, outputting at a native resolution of 1080p. Meanwhile, Xbox One gamers have had to settle with 720p.

If hardware sales are an indication of how much a brand is loved, and if software sales are a measure of how attached people are to hardware, then Sony is doing everything right from top to bottom with the PlayStation 4, because Konami royally cleaned up in the sales department with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.

Daniel from Takuchat.com writes: "Anyone who knows me on Takuchat.com knows that Metal Gear Solid is the reason I game, Im a huge fan of the series and I like to think I know the ins and out of just about every MGS title. I bought Ground Zeroes day 1 like Im sure many reading this also did (and Ive more hours into it than most other games this year so dont start with that its only a demo talk, or do, whatever Im not your Mom). So imagine my surprise when, months after release, I watch a Ground Zeroes montage video that showed Big Boss utilising a move that I didnt even know was possible, I told myself Id try figure out how to do it later as other games got in the way and then I forgot about it, until today."

Simon Smith from Simons Video Games writes: Length can be a major factor in how much we enjoy a game. whether it be either short or even long how long the events of a game last really have to tell us whether a game is truly worth playing and whether or not we are going to get our moneys worth out of the game. While some games far exceed there expiration point and drag on for far to long, there are others that do not do enough and make us question was it really worth it? I remember posing this question to myself when I played the videogame for Transformers Prime which when I finished the game at around two and a half hours I had to ask did I really enjoy this game? My answer to this question was yes. The way the game was played and the length hit the perfect point before I started to get bored by the games repetitive nature. It was the perfect game that I could put down at any point and pick up again quite happily, sadly now though I am forced to question myself once again.
